After an Assault
1. Seek help! – Whether from a medical professional, law enforcement, or both, reach out for help. If receiving medical attention, which is highly recommended, refrain from showering and changing your clothes, it will help preserve evidence. You don’t have to face this alone and there are people who want to help you!
2. Seek counseling! – Tuttleman Counseling Services (located at 1810 Liacouras Walk) provides free counseling services for all students. For victims of sexual harassment, assault, domestic abuse, or stalking, Tuttleman has a program called Sexual Assault Counseling and Education (SACE) to help victims with issues of physical and mental health, personal safety, and academic status. Additional services are offered by the Wellness Resource Center (Lower Level of Mitten Hall – 1913 N. Broad St.) and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance (Second floor of Sullivan Hall – 1330 Polett Walk)
3. Contact Campus Safety Services! – If you desire, Campus Safety will partner with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit to conduct a formal investigation. Campus Safety services will help by informing you of additional supportive services you can seek and legal actions you can take.
4. File for a violation of the Student Code of Conduct! - If you do not wish to file criminal charges, but would like some action to be taken, you may also file a complaint with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards (1802 N. Broad St. Suite 402) for a violation of the student code of conduct.
5. Talk to a teacher or faculty member! – If you want just to talk, but not take legal or disciplinary action, you can be referred to Tuttleman Counseling Services.

- Confidentiality is key! Temple promises that your identity will be kept confidential throughout the process, unless you wish to release your name.
- You won’t be left in the dark! Temple will inform you of any developments in your case as they occur.
- You’re never alone! – The most important thing to remember is that you are never alone. There are people who want to help you and will be there to support you! Sexual harassment or assault of any form is not acceptable and you do not have to be silent about it!
